About Adriana Saroki
Adriana's journey with music started over 20 years ago. At the age of seven she begged her parents for lessons after seeing the Disney Youth Orchestra on TV. For ten years she studied classical violin under Eugenia Song. Throughout high school and college Adriana taught lessons to children and young adults. She is known for her ability to work with young children and develop fun and creative ways to learn and perform music. The summer after her first year of college Adriana wrote and performed a musical with her students.
In college and graduate school at University of Michigan, Adriana studied under renowned musicians
Sarah Jones-Hayes, Haerim Lee,
Elim Chan,
Eiki Isomura,
Adrian Slywotzky,
Oriol Sans, Jessica Chen, and Rotem Weinberg and played in University of Michigan Orchestras including the University Campus Symphony, University Campus Philharmonia, UM Life Sciences Orchestra, and the Michigan Pops Orchestra.
Her love for folk music developed the summer after her sophomore year of college while living in northern Michigan at the UM Biological Station and playing music with the students and scientists in residence at the station. It was during this time that she fell in love with improvising with friends and learning new instruments. She continues to deepen her knowledge of genres and instruments studying under Aaron Jonah Lewis (bluegrass/old time fiddle and banjo), James Anthony (guitar and mandolin), and Ashley Grebe (violin and Irish fiddle). She also writes her own music and is working on her first album.
Throughout her journey with music, Adriana has enjoyed sharing her love for music through teaching and performing. She teaches independently through Saroki Music and is a private lesson music teacher at the Academy of the Sacred Heart in Bloomfield Hills, MI. In addition to teaching, Adriana has gained extensive experience playing for weddings or other special events. She also plays concerts and informal gigs such as live music yoga, high tea or cocktails and music, or restaurant special events.
